What is included in a basic medical alert system package?
Our basic package includes a low voltage control console with two-way voice communication, power supply, back up battery, and (1) wireless remote medical alert device, either a waterproof wristband or pendant. The system requires active telephone service for communication. Additional devices such as, smoke detectors, motion sensors, door/window contacts, and additional personal alert notification devices can be added.
Is there a charge for the basic equipment package?
No, there is no charge for equipment. A one-time $99.95 activation fee is due at signing, along with one service month fee, for a total of $113.90. No charge for shipping. Sales taxes not included. 2-year agreement may apply.
Beginning December 1, 2008 and running through December 31, 2009, we are offering "our standard 911 Senior" personal alert equipment and service for $13.95 per month, $5.00 off our standard rate. Billing terms are monthly, or annually. Major credit cards are accepted. Medical professional discounts are available. We offer reduced rates based on an income sliding scale. Will the system work if I have a wireless phone service, versus a land line?
Yes, however, an additional control device will need to be installed programmed to send signals using your wireless phone service. Cost for the device is $145.95, postage and installation charges not included.
Do I need to subscribe to a call center dispatch service?
No. The system can be purchased for $229.99, plus shipping and handling. The unit will arrive at your door pre-programmed with the contact phone numbers that are to be called in the event of an emergency. For example, the unit can be programmed to call your family member, neighbor, on-site security, 911 emergency services, or your primary care provider.
Are there additional service charges for two-way communications?
No, this is part of the system operation for both Medical Alert and "911 Senior" personal alert systems.
