“WHY PAY FOR MEDICAL ALERT MONITORING SERVICE?” Good question, one I hear often, particularly now during troubled economic times, when family budgets are tighter then ever! 24/7 service, is just that, 24 hours a-day-seven-days-a–week, weekends, holidays, every single day rain or shine, a licensed dispatch operator is on the other end of the communication line, ready to professionally handle an incoming call, a calm operator assessing the emergency, assuring the caller that help will be on the way, dispatching local responders, all simultaneous efforts while maintaining communication with the caller until help arrives. I ask you, “If, your mother called you in the middle of the night, panicked, clearly upset, suddenly sick, and frightened, would you be able to: wake up quickly, and in a coherent calm manner manage the situation, provide reassurance, then call local responders for assistance?” Or, “Would you, race around the house, looking for your car keys, your eye glasses, head out the door ready to save the day in your pj‘s?” Seriously, what would happen if the call came, a call generated by a medical alert device directly to your mobile phone and you were in the middle of a meeting, unable to readily answer the call?
